A SIZES

A-size envelopes open on the long dimension and have side seams. Their seal flaps are square, and come half way down the back of the envelope.

There are six A sizes:

A-2 — 4-3/8" x 5-3/4"
A-6 — 4-3/4" x 6-1/2"
A-7* — 5-1/4" x 7-1/4"
A-8 — 5-1/2" x 8-1/8"
A-9 — 5-3/4" x 8-3/4"
A-10 — 6" x 9-1/2"

We have starred the A-7 size, as this is by far the most popular size. One of our folding machines is permanently on this size, so that custom orders can be manufactured in days rather than weeks, especially if you provide the paper.

This style envelope is almost impossible to automatically insert, as the throat is too deep and the seal flaps are too long for automatic inserting machines. However, we do have a way around this problem, so if you need to automate the insertion process we have the answer.
